Both banned and beautiful, Absinthe has long been a favorite during ''The Green Hour'' in Europe. Legendary artists and the lesser known flocked to bars to partake in the ritual drink. The active ingredient, thujone, is similar to THC and mimics marijuana's effects as an aphrodisiac and creative stimulant.

Just add a quart or more of your favorite clear alcohol to the 17-herb kit, which includes blue lotus, and let the green fairy do her magic. You'll be back for more of this beautiful drink!

To brew, open the quart jar and fill with strong alcohol – more than 70 proof. Allow the immersible 17-herb muslin bag to macerate at room temperature in darkness for 2 to 4 weeks. Do not refigerate. Strain and drink. The muslin herb bag can be re-used two times.

To drink, pour two shots of absinthe into a tall glass. Place sugar cube in spoon and pour cold water over the cube and into the glass. The absinthe will cloud, indicating the presence of the active ingredients. Store in a cool, dark place – 55-65 F.
