Bazaar of India quality begins in the fields, where only the finest herbs and raw materials are selected. The company's global sourcing of raw materials ensures that the highest quality products are chosen from each harvest season. Most of our herbs are organically grown. Since India does not have such an organic certification system, they can not certify them as organic, however most of our herbs are wild crafted and are not sprayed with any pesticides or insecticides.
Contrary to popular belief, all herbs from India are NOT irradiated, including ours. Because of our high quality packing techniques and cleaning procedures, there is not need for the authorities to irradiate our herbs.
After harvesting, these materials are shipped to the 7,000 sq. ft. Bazaar of India manufacturing facility in Berkeley, CA where they are subjected to a series of in-depth quality control tests to ensure purity, potency and cleanliness.
All incoming raw materials are thoroughly tested before they are released for use in Bazaar of India’s products. Quality checks continue throughout the various stages of manufacturing, as well as at the completion of production.
We perform extensive Bacteria testing, Mold and Yeast testing, E. coli testing, and Salmonella testing.
We also test herb quality using Organoleptic ID testing, Microscopy, & Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC).
Foreign materials are tested using high temperature ash testing. We do not hesitate to reject inferior herbs, thus ensuring consistent high quality.
